Schlund and Partner consciously chose comparatively small servers with Intel dual processors and a 500 Gbyte Channel Raid, even though the management of the distributed systems, by comparison to larger computers, is more work intensive. That is why the Karlsruhe team developed their own solutions. Linux is almost exclusively used and thanks to Open-Sources, it saves on the one hand costs and on the other allows for a more flexible reaction when needed.

Schlund+Partner AG was founded in 1995 and is considered to be one of the market leaders for Premium-Hosting in Germany. The company belongs to 1&1 Internet AG, which in turn is a daughter company of the NEMAX 50 listed United Internet AG (Montabaur).

The product line spans from high-quality Hosting packets for companies for ASP (Application service Providing) and domain registration to ready-to run servers as well as server homing. Sales and distribution are carried out via a nationwide net of about 4,000 partners. Pre-selected, on location agencies help realize individual customer needs through web-design, databank management, and e-commerce development.

Schlund+Partner operates the 1 & 1 group's computer center in Karlsruhe. Here, more than 2.6 million Domains are on over 4.000 servers. That is a third of all German Internet presence and more Internet Domains than in every other European computer center.
