Linux-Kongress,

the international Linux developer conference, is 2008 returning to German soil. It will take place from October 7 through October 10, 2008 in beautiful Hamburg in the north of Germany. This years conference is organized by the German Unix User Group (GUUG).
   Linux-Kongress is by far one of the most traditional Linux conferences with a focus on development and cutting edge topics. GUUG will organize in 2008 the 15th edition of this event, first started in 1994 in Heidelberg, Linux-Kongress made its trip through a variety of German cities, Netherlands and on the English isle (LinuxConf Europe). Since its start 14 years ago Linux-Kongress has been evolved into the most important meeting for Linux experts and developers in Europe.

[2008-08-04] Call for Papers closed. In total the program committee has to review 62 submissions.
[2008-08-11] The program committee finished its work on time. Speakers were notified. GUUG is very satisfied with the quality of talks submitted.
[2008-08-17] All keynote speakers confirmed! We are very happy about the international response.
[2008-08-21] Program is published!
[2008-09-13] .. was the last day for early bird discount.
[2008-10-11] LK 2008 is over. Overall GUUG is happy with the number of attendees. Especially we got from almost everybody -- speakers, as well as keynote speakers, but also attendees -- very positive feedback. After all the work, this is great to hear!
[2008-10-15] Streams from the keynotes and the closing note are available.
[2008-10-18] Talks as PDFs are
online now. The conference proceedings (ISBN 978-3-86541-300-0) will be available online for free in one year.
[2008-10-27] We are sorry that due to some technical circumstances five papers didn't make it into the proceedings though they were submitted in time. The supplement prepared today will make that up. Except at the conference only proceedings including the supplement will be distributed.
